Temporary honorary membership
Widows or widowers of members of HM Armed Forces irrespective of rank who are a Full member of the War Widows Association or the beneficiary of the War Pension scheme for spouse or Armed Forces Compensation Scheme 2005 survivors guaranteed income; are entitled to use the Union Jack Club for accommodation at the Temporary honorary membership rate. Only the WWA Member may take advantage of this. However, if you fit the criteria you may also apply for:-
Membership of the Union Jack Club
Widows, widowers and long-term partners of deceased Service personnel shall be entitled to apply for membership of the Union Jack Club in their own name at any time following the death of their spouse or partner providing they meet the following criteria below
If the service person died in service and had completed two or more years and was at the time of their passing held a non-commissioned rank. If the service person died after leaving the Armed Forces (Veteran) they must have served a minimum of two years service and was non-commissioned upon discharge from the Armed Forces.
They will be known as “Widow/Widower Members” of the Club and shall be entitled to members room rate when booking accommodation for themselves and immediate family (Son/Daughter & Parents) and be able to book accommodation for up to four guests who if not immediate family would be at Temporary Honorary Member rates. It also allows the member use club facilities without accommodation booking for themselves and the ability to bring in up to eight guests.

The Victory Services Club is based near Marble Arch and was established in 1907. The VSC is a tri-service, all ranks Members’ Club for currently serving and former serving members of the Armed Forces and their families.
The Club has 202 bedrooms, 2 restaurants, a coffee bar and a Lounge Bar. The Club also has 7 versatile event rooms available for member hire for private events and dinners.
The Club has two charitable objectives: to provide a place for serving and former serving personnel to meet; and to support serving or former serving personnel who face hardship or distress, including those wounded as a result of operational service. We are very proud of the Respite & Welfare Breaks that contribute to the second charitable objective.
The Club offers a truly unique Club atmosphere offering excellent service and value for money, impressive accommodation, varied dining options and events.
Service widow membership is just £32.50 per year.
